This is the first year Brian took 2 weeks off during the holidays. He is not a guy that can not sit around during his time off (much to my delight). He built this 8 foot book case in the garage under the watchful, and envious, eyes of the neighbors.

This one book case holds the same amount of books that were stored in 2 weak, ugly bookcases. It's made our office so much more roomy. We might even be able to use it as a guest room now.
He now has plans to make another book case for our room upstairs. We're hoping to get some of the books stored in the attic down and accessible.

What a great looking bookcase! Our husbands sound very similar. Jordan built our bed. It is beautiful.
hey, those turned out great - and I'm impressed with your dinner creations - I didn't turn the oven on at my house for two weeks (I did help bake at my mom's house a little)!
Oh, I am SO jealous!!! Good thing we don't live on your block--my husband would've been so jealous. We gave away most of his tools to move here. He built a desk and 3 WALLS of shelves in our old home--oh how I miss them! That bookcase is beautiful, by the way.
I agree, it looks great! Will Brian consider a second job as a carpenter for us? I could use one of those in my house too. :)
It seems like Brian should be a carpenter as a side job. I would sign up to be his first customer. Way to go Brian and Kim you are so lucky he does all the things for you. It look great!
Your bookcase turned out great. Could I sign up for Brian to make me one? Jim is not good making things out of wood, but he can fix anything and make things out of metal.
2 questions:
When is Brian's next day off?
Can I borrow him?
Seriously jealous!!! How much does he charge?
Now that's a good New Year project! I love anything that gives me more room!
Impressive!
He's got mad skills.
That is awesome! What a lucky girl you are to have such a handy hubby!
