Homeward Bound???

Do you like it? It's one of the options for our new home. It's simple, but there is plenty of fresh air (I hear that's good for children). The kitchen is a HUGE down grade from our current one, but it will be nice to not be tied to the hum drum life of a house wife. Ha!

Ok, I gotta laugh so I don't cry. Here's the newest on the house. We were ready to accept an offer on our present home. We were doing our due diligence on the new home. We had the regular inspection, pool inspection, etc. Then we learn that there is a defect in the home that the home owner knew nothing about. We got another type of inspector in there and they said the same as the first.

After much prayer, discussion, moments of denial, and then a couple of reality checks we decided we couldn't take on the liability. It's a fabulous house, and a great fit for our family. It just isn't going to happen.

So ... what to do now. We've gotten 5 offers on our home in a week. We don't want to lose that opportunity, but we also don't want to give up a house that we love if we don't have another that we love more to move into. And, let's be honest, though I LOVE having my house spotless at all times. I'm a bit sick of obsessing about cleaning. I don't know how people do it. My kids are doing awesome at helping, but I sense their resolution weakening. You can be on your best behavior for about a week and then the messy truth springs out. Ha!

We're going to look at a few more homes this week. Our excitement over the whole thing has waned. Maybe we'll find that yard we're hoping to, maybe we won't. Anyone know anyone who wants to sell their house??? (Trying to keep optimism alive).

so lame! I guess you're glad you paid the extra money for the other inspector :) you did say you had realized how much you loved your house now, though, right?, right? if not, what about the one on 15641 Boulder Mountain or 14748 High Valley Road... the HVR one would need a little (a lot) of updating, but I could see you put your touch on it.. although maybe you were just meant to stick around here for a while longer :)

my 2 cents: Boulder Mountain is awesome!!! I would die for that one. Don't feel so strongly about HVR. It's really far back there. Of course, my final vote is: stay put!!

I hope you find something wonderful. If you stay put you can use my pool anytime. Seriously, it just sits back there empty and looking pretty. It need some kids to play in it. Plus then I could talk to you again. I loved hangin with you today.

FYI: The Boulder Mountain home is PERFECT. It's also going on auction. That number shown is the starting amount. They are hoping for more than $1.2 million. Can I borrow some money, anyone??? ha!

Diane, I loved our visit too! I will be back for our movie discussion. Ha!

I know nothing about the Boulder Mountain house, but your other friends like it, so I say go for it. Maybe you can get it cheaper at the auction. You never know. Hang in there. I know something good will happen. Have a great day and good luck.

I feel your anxiety and disappointment. I'm so sorry. Hang in there, hang in there, hang in there. It will all work out, somehow. Wish I could help! Just the fact that you didn't have to keep your house clean for 8 months is a tremendous gift! The blessing are there =]

Oh I am so sorry for your dilemma, good thing you brought in the second inspector. You know there is a fabulous house in Rolling Knolls, our ward-hint, hint.....

We'll totally let you bunk at our house, as long as you promise to move into our ward:) Have you found any homes in my area? So sorry about the inspection.
